Today, on National DNA Day, we are taking a moment to thank and celebrate you—the nearly 500,000 people from across the country who have joined the All of Us Research Program. You are all helping us expand what we know about health and disease.
When you joined All of Us, we offered to check your DNA for health-related results if you wanted that information. We’re getting close. To help keep you in the loop, for the next few months, we will send you regular updates on our progress.

Did you complete the DNA Consent? Take a minute to check your completed tasks and confirm you said “Yes” to this consent form. Receiving these results is your choice.
You may have other steps to complete to get your results when they’re ready.

When will health-related DNA results be available?
We will start returning health-related results before the end of this year. It will take several months to return results to everyone who wants them.
These results will share sensitive health information. That makes it much more complex than returning results about genetic ancestry and traits. We are very excited about the steps we have completed. Here are a couple important steps we are almost done building:
- A network of U.S.-based, state-of-the-art labs to analyze and interpret DNA data from a very diverse group of people.
- A network of licensed genetic counselors available nationwide to help you understand your results, at no cost to you.
Who will get health-related DNA results first?
We plan to return these results based on when you gave us your blood sample. If you were one of the first participants to give your blood sample, you will be one of the first to get your results. We’re starting with blood samples and plan to return results for saliva samples as soon as we can.
